About The Class
Utako Yamada, Tea Master and popular illustrator cum author of children books will be in town for a talk about tea and the world of “Karel Capek” an original tea blend that she cultivated in her tea shop in Japan for over 30 years! Enjoy her talk while sipping this unique blend of tea from Karel Capek.
After the introduction about tea by Utako Yamada, there will be an exclusive tour of The Regent Hotel, A Four Seasons Hotel, followed by a tasting session of “New Afternoon Tea with Karel Capek Tea”, a new item on the menu that will be launched only after mid August. Attendees to this workshop will be among the first to try it out!
In addition to savouring the new tea blend, you can also enjoy a selection of Karel Capek infused pastries, specially put together by the hotel’s excellent pastry team and get to bring home an exclusive tea gift from Karel Capek tea shop!

About the Tea Master: Utako Yamada
Utako Yamada has many talent! She is a tea master and owner of tea blend “Karel Capek” that has a history of 30 years in Japan and at the same time, a writer, illustrator and translator! After opening Karel Capek, she became active on writing and illustrating children stories, especially with creating characters, of which, some are based on her real life experiences. Her most notable children books are “The story of Cherry the Pig” and “Buzzy the Honeybee” and her stories often depict characters eating something or having tea. Her books have also been widely translated and published in Taiwan, USA, France and Korea. At Karel Capek tea shop, she also worked on designing products for tea and tea accessories. As an illustrator, she also collaborated with companies such as Ueno of Unochro, Naizich Shueisha, kids’ maid of Royal Hostel.
With her good taste and easy to approach style, Utako Yamada always attracts people. Her charm works well especially advertisements or campaigns that targets females and children.

Spoonful will send future class info or promotion info via e-mail to the attendees after the class.

The event organizer “Spoonful (Alchemist Pte Ltd)” is not responsible for any personal food allergy. Each attendee must take his/her own responsibility for any allergy. You will fully and truthfully disclose to Spoonful in writing any allergy, medical condition, pregnancy, dietary requirements or other relevant health information pertaining to you at the time of your booking. Any food that you take away should be stored and consumed strictly in accordance with our instructions and guidelines, and we do not accept any responsibility for any injury or illness resulting from any food taken away.
3. CANCELLATION OF CLASS/EVENT:
In the unlikely event that a schedule class or event needs to be cancelled, Spoonful will give notification 3 working days prior to the event day, to all the attendees. There will be no refund unless the event itself is cancelled by Spoonful.
4. FORCE MAJEURE:
Should Spoonful be unable to provide for your class or function due Acts of God or any circumstances beyond the control of Spoonful, we will not be responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.
5. RIGHT TO REFUSE
Spoonful holds the right to refuse an attendee, or request to be removed from the premises, if the instructor or any staff member feels that the attendee is intoxicated or may cause harm to themselves or anyone else attending the scheduled class or event.
6. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY: Spoonful (Alchemist Pte Ltd) and its partner may take photographic or video images of activities at events for our advertising, publicity or sponsorship purposes.
